Fall Portraits, 2010

For Fall 2010, some good color combinations for individual or family portraits are Teal & Brown, Fuschia & Brown, Olive Green & Khaki, Grey & Mustard Yellow, and rich Purple. Keep it simple. Overly bright colors, stripes, dots, and patterns don’t work well because they tend to draw attention away from the face(s) in your portrait.

Layer, Layer, Layer and Accessorize: Dress in layers to add texture and depth to your images. Also add some fun accessories such as scarves, necklaces, fun shoes or boots, earrings, vests, belts, hats, etc.

For a group portrait, coordinate the clothing. Dress similarly, and choose solid colors and simple lines. Your clothing selections should compliment each other, they DO NOT have to match exactly. Everyone dress in the same ‘style’. Either all go casual or dressy or somewhere in between.

2011 Senior Representatives

WOW....so, it's been awhile since I've posted anything on my blog. This is becoming a terrible habit which I must correct.

I've finally announced my Senior Representatives for 2011. These 3 were selected based upon school involvement, recommendations from family/friends and overall enthusiasm for this project. They are:

Lucas Grogan of Greenland High School

Emma is Vice President of the Spanish Club, Club Rep of FCCLA, Secretary of FTA, Student Council Executive Board Secretary and she is on the MCHS track team.

Tori is a member of the Varsity cheerleading squad, is involved in Leadership, and also very much interested in pursuing photography.

Lucas Grogan is involved in Weightlifting, Basebal., Football, Skills USA & FCCLA.

I look forward to working with these 3 over the next year.....

We took these pictures over the New Year's Holiday. We've had a couple more snows since then, but unfortunately my Canon happened to be in the shop due to a faulty circuit board so we missed out on pics during those two storms.

I'm ready for spring weather..... and of course spring pictures.

Snow......We've had an abundance of it already this winter, and more in the forecast for this week. Hopefully this doesn't interfere with our plans, as we will be leaving on Wednesday to head to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida for the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championships. We are very excited to be a part of this, and look forward to an exciting and exhausting week. Please keep us in your prayers, that we may have a safe voyage there and back.

So, Monday we headed to Eureka Springs to start working on senior pictures for Kurt...we started out late, and it was HOT so we didn't get much accomplished. I think for future shoots, we will stick closer to home... also, I need to talk Kurt into getting up early so I can get some morning shots. That may be easier said than done...lol

Well, the "Right Choices" Corn Maze in Southwest City, MO. is getting ready for another busy fall. You can visit their website at www.makerightchoicescornmaze.com

They will be soon be offering wedding packages, and I was asked to provide some photos for use in some advertising brochures.

If you haven't been out to the farm, there's lots of great stuff for the family to do...hay rides, corn cannon, broom making, pony rides, live music, horse drawn wagon rides, pumpkin patch, and of course the MAZE!! Opening day is September 19th.....

Alyssa is a freshman at Mac County High School. She is a varsity cheerleader, and very much into dance and tumbling. This was our first photo session together, and I hope to have more in the future. I think I walked more during this photo session than I have in a year...lol...

soo....long week, and it's just now half way over. Today was a beautiful day...would have been a good day for fishing. Or photos. Maybe photos of fishing, that would have been nice. And hey, I've still got a job, so that's an added bonus.

I'm ready for spring... and I'm ready for spring photos. I'm tired of cold weather, dry skin, and dreary darkness.

sooo....it's been a really long day. My daughter was actually in a photo mood when I got home tonight, so we spent a good 45 minutes taking pics, and working on back handsprings in the back yard. Cheerleading tryouts are in a couple weeks, and she really hopes to make varsity this year...we'll keep our fingers crossed.
